Meet the Team
James Atkins
James has worked in climate and biodiversity for over 25 years. He has founded a number of companies and organisations in these areas including Vertis Environmental Finance (emissions trading), Planet League (using the power of football to mobilise fans to live greener), Flite Protein (ultra-sustainable plant-based protein from nature-friendly farms), Zsamboki Biokert (organic farm and box-scheme outside Budapest) and Danube Kids (getting kids living along the Danube into nature). Following careful thought, James’ favourite bird is the Bullfinch.
David Gazdag
Co-founder
David is an ecologist and entrepreneur with 2 decades’ experience in climate change mitigation and adaptation, carbon markets, certification schemes and ecosystem restoration. David designed and developed the Wild Power Solar Biodiversity Scorecard.
Guy Parker
Co-founder and advisor
Guy is founder and co-director of Wychwood Biodiversity Limited. Guy started his career in wildlife conservation in Africa. He has been working with land managers in the UK since 2009, promoting biodiversity on private and public land. His passion is restoring habitats on renewable energy sites, which he sees as a great way to tackle the climate and biodiversity crises. He lives in South Devon with his family and ever-expanding collection of animals.
Joe Arafa
Director
Joe has a degree in biology and a background as an entrepreneur with a background in finance and start-ups. Joe is passionate about Wild Power’s vision of providing habitat for nature alongside renewable energy . He grew up between the UK and Egypt and now lives in South Devon, where he remains regularly surprised by how cold the sea is.
